Okay friends, not to be a downer, but I just haven’t felt like getting back into the swing of things yet. We had to put our beloved cat Tiny Tina to sleep last weekend, very unexpectedly… On top of that, I was in a car accident on the way to the vet’s office – besides some neck and back pain, I’m totally fine, but I’ve been stuck at home without a vehicle lately.
To be honest, I haven’t been doing much lately but crashing on the couch, watching TV, and cuddling our other cat Abby. I don’t want to turn this into a pity party, but I wanted to share what’s been going on lately and why posts have been so scarce.
I still wanted to pull together a Thrift Score Thursday post, though. It’s like we have this standing date, coffee + catching up, and it’s definitely something I look forward to – getting to chat about the fun features from the #thriftscorethursday feed and our mutual (I’ll always assume) love for brass animals…
My Find:
It was a few weeks ago now, but sometimes good things happen when you drop by that one thrift store you’ve written off in the past. These two brass antelopes (? gazelles?) were just sitting there waiting for me. One would have been a delightful and irresistible find, so stumbling across a pair was just the icing on the cake!
I plopped them down to the left of the TV when I found them and I’m really enjoying them there for now:

The Features:
From the #thriftscorethursday feed on Instagram…
Chaney (@mayricherfullerbe) found this vintage china cabinet at a local thrift store for a steal. I love the mid-century lines and the details on the doors! Such a beautiful piece.
Need some bohemian styling inspiration? Alice (@thoughtsfromalice) has you covered! Most of what you see in this lovely coffee table shot is vintage or thrifted!
Isn’t this just the most darling craft spot? Cheri (@cheri_interieurs) brilliantly repurposed eight mismatched milk glass compotes to hold desk accessories.
I’m dying over this gorgeous vintage brass and marble desk lamp found by Jami (@secondhandglam) – only $4.99! Incredible.
Finally, here’s a fun followup – I always love seeing thrift scores in use!
A while back (Thrift Score Thursday 84) I featured these accordion sconces Kristin (@blissathome1) found at the thrift store…
Kristin recently completed her drop-dead gorgeous kitchen makeover and tagged this photo sharing where the sconces ended up. Holy cow, freaking amazing:

We’re so happy to welcome Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios back as our guest host this week!
Seriously, I can’t get enough of Maggie’s colorful and eclectic decorating style – everything she does (like this pink door!) is so, so good!
there were so many amazing finds it was really hard to choose! i had saved several photos and narrowed it down last night- some of these were in my initial round, and i ended up featuring chaney’s cabinet, too!!! love your gazelopes sooo much!

Love that craft desk.
Thank you Julia! It’s been a lot to deal with. A friend is picking me up today so I can get out of the house where my brain is seeing Tina constantly.
Oh Brynne 🙁 I’m so sorry to hear about Tina…and of course your car. My heart goes out to you…fur babies are so precious. I totally get it.
Also, those brass animals are on point, as always.
Hugs girl! xoxo

Thank you so much Helen! They really are!
Kristen’s kitchen is just incredible. I forgot those lamps were from a thrift store!! I’m so sorry about what’s been going on in life for you lately. I know it’s overwhelming and seems to be pouring down. Let’s grab lunch/coffee/insert-desirable-reason-for-a-girl-date-here soon!!
That would be lovely. Thanks sweet friend!
And yes, Kristin’s kitchen is BEYOND awesome – I can’t get enough of it!
I am so very sorry for your very difficult week. Losing our fur babies is so very hard because we hold them so close to our heart. Then to have an accident on top of all that – mercy, child, that’s a heavy load to bear. Prayers for your healing physically and your broken heart.
Thank you so much Susan! All the love and support has been so sweet and helpful lately! It means so much to me!
You know I love your newest brass animals!
And I’m so sorry about your terrible week 🙁
Thank you Gretchen! And yes – I think your brass menagerie is even more diverse than mine! Life goals!
Oh no , Brynne, I’m behind here, but I’m so sorry! Yet somehow here you are back with your regular TST. You are one tough gal. Sending you peace and hugs! Love all these gorgeous finds, but your brass buddies are especially sweet!
Thank you sweet lady! Blogging is a good way to keep my mind busy and it provides a nice diversion.
Awww, we lost one of our cats last year, I hadn’t realised how attached I was, I was devastated. Have you read the rainbow bridge?
I think those brass animals are ibex?
