Good morning you guys! Boy has it been a non-stop week over here…
As you know, I was able to travel to Memphis last week with Ace Hardware and meet up with my dear blogging friend, fellow Ace Blogger, and Thrift Score Thursday c0-host Cassie! And wouldn’t you know, she sent me home with the sweetest vintage gift which I’m sharing today as my find!
My Find:
Just to be clear, Cassie gets all the credit for this awesomeness. She did the finding and all I had to do was bring it home (fingers crossed the whole time for gentle baggage handlers when I had to gate check my carry-on!) and run all through the house looking for the perfect place to display it, which just so happened to be my fall entryway vignette.
It’s seriously the most perfect gift ever! A gorgeous malachite-green marbled glass dish with a handwritten inscription on the back “From Guatemala 1967”.
It’s so much more iridescent and candy-like in person than I was able to convey with photos! And the really crazy thing is, after the workshop I was able to attend with Amy Howard, I think I might have an inkling of how it was made and might possibly attempt a DIY version sometime…
Everyone wants to be on Cassie’s gift-giving list now, right?!
The Features:
Time for this week’s features!
First up, we have these stunning vintage accordion sconces from Kristin at Bliss At Home (Instagram: blissathome1)! Hmm, my DIY version suddenly isn’t cutting it for me anymore… I love these to death!
Cate from Style Mutt Home (Instagram: cate_stylemutthome)shared this tray and we all gave her virtual high-fives! That graphic print is the bomb. And if you find a basic large, circular tray at the thrift store, I’m sure you could actually create a DIY version of this tray yourself with some painter’s tape and a bit of patience…
If you’re not already following @mariaski63, do yourself a favor and fix that right away. I just love her eye for both vintage finds and photography! These brass thrift finds are so good!
So, funny story. One Saturday morning we woke up and noticed that our across-the-street neighbors were having a garage sale. And there was this gorgeous robin’s egg blue bicycle sitting out in front of all the tables. And I wanted that bike so very badly, but I was still in my pjs, so Bryan ran across the street still holding his cup of coffee. Sadly for me, this wasn’t a perfectly idyllic rom-com, so the bike ended up belonging to a garage-sale-visitor and I didn’t serendipitously get the vintage robin’s egg blue bicycle of my dreams. Happily for @louloumint_etsy, her story turned out a little differently…

Thanks girl! It’s always great to have you! The embed thing seems to be working so far… I’ve had issues on mobile in the past, so I’m interested to see if anyone has an problems viewing the pictures… Hopefully this is a great new way to do it!

I can’t wait to try it out sometime! I hadn’t really thought to apply the technique to glass dishes or bowls, but obviously it makes a perfect gift! 🙂
Aw man! The bike would have been such a victory! BUT THAT GORGEOUS BOWL! What a fantastic find. It’s perfect for you.
One of these days hopefully I’ll score my perfect vintage bike! I’ll just comfort myself with my perfect glass bowl over here, haha 😉
Wow Cassie, what a perfect gift! I def want to be on that list just to see how dead on she could get the gift haha! The bowl looks super smooth, and I kind of want to pet it!
Haha, that’s a natural reaction! 🙂
ooh–that dish! so pretty!
I love your thriftscorethursday! however I cant see anything with this new way 🙁
Thank you for letting me know! I’ve been running into some technical issues so I think I’ll be returning to the old way next week – it’s too bad, because when it works the embedded Instagram pictures are great! But I want everyone to be able to view them 🙂
SO much good stuff. I really want the malachite plate though.
It’s seriously one of my new favorite possessions ever!
Great bowl! I love gold and emerald together – it’s a win-win!
It’s my absolute favorite combination!
