Oh you guys! I’m so glad it’s Thrift Score Thursday again because I have a backlog of recent thrift finds to share with you! I’m pacing myself, however, since these things tend to come and go in spurts. Fantastic luck for a few weeks, then weeks and weeks of nothing but creepy clowns and Pilgrims…
My Find:
Two weeks ago I shared an Instagram peek at an enormous gold Greek goddess bust I found…
She’s very nearly life-sized and quite imposing! I wasn’t quite sure about the purchase initially, but I remembered this fantastic thrift makeover from Refound Vintage (featured on Thrift Score Thursday 66) and knew I would regret leaving her behind.
While I don’t typically alter my thrift finds all that much, I decided that she really needed a coat of white paint to work in the way I envisioned…
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a bust once found MUST be in want of a necklace adornment…
Such a cool and classy lady!
The Features:
Color me jealous of these incredible acrylic lamps Britt (Instagram: bbkingery) scored at a yard sale! I’ve had lamps on the brain lately but haven’t had great luck at the thrift store (it’s a sore subject; passed up on a lamp I regretted and it wasn’t there when I went back), so I’ll live vicariously through her finds!
A wooden rhino is another thing on my thrifting wish list! Sandra (Instagram: vintaushop) was lucky enough to stumble across this guy… Must. Find. One.
(And name him Harold.)
How sweet is this vintage globe makeover shared by Leila (Instagram: leiloutadesigns)? Just darling! I know I’ve passed up on a few globes that weren’t in great shape or just weren’t anything particularly special on their own – such a great idea to give it a gorgeous floral redesign!
Finally, I have to shout out Emily’s fab find! (Find her on Instagram: watassa) She spotted four of these wicker chairs at Goodwill for $75 and had one of those sixth-sense moments… And boy did it pay off! A little research revealed that they were designed and produced by Tito Agnoli from 1960-1969 and are quite collectible (and valuable)!
I absolutely love hearing stories like that!
This is exactly what sends me back to the thrift store and browsing Craigslist again and again – you simply never know what treasures you might find in someone else’s trash…

Awww!! Thanks Cassie!
Thanks Cassie! 🙂
look at your fancy lady! nice! and now I want a wooden rhino, too!
I think everyone needs a wooden rhino! It should be a basic human right or something. 😉
Your lady looks great, and you totally made my day with your P&P-inspired caption. I get too excited by literary jokes, lol. Love all your picks this week! Hope Harold finds you soon. 🙂
Yesss P& P for the win!!! i have a white bust too and I named her Jane (Austen, of course!). She looks sooooo much better in white, as much as I like gold!
I knew you’d love that line! 🙂 And she reminds me of a Jane Austen character… I’ll have to dream up the perfect name!
Well LizzieB of course! what else….
addendum my neck is just like hers! lol
You were so right to paint her white, that necklace is the perfect gem to hang round her neck. I’m sure a beautiful floral headband would look lovely as well!
Thanks girl! I love the floral headband idea!
Thank you so much for the shout out 🙂
You’re so welcome! Thanks for sharing with #thriftscorethursday!
She’s gorgeous! I love how the white paint makes her look like porcelain 🙂
Thanks Caitlin! She’s so much better now!
That bust looks SO good! I wouldn’t have thought to paint it white, but man, it’s awesome! Super striking and seriously beautiful!
Thanks for the feature today! 🙂
Thanks Emily! 🙂 You’d better believe I was going to feature your super exciting finds!
Love the bust revamp! What a lucky find on those wicker chairs! That’s awesome!
Thanks Amber! And yes – can you believe her luck with those chairs?!
I like the makeover! The white definitely makes the bust more sophisticated. I love those acrylic lamps!
She really is so beautiful with the coat of white! And I think the necklace suits the strong personality vibes I’m getting from her 😉
I love that necklace so much – I never really have any reason to wear it, so it makes me happy to at least display it!
