What’s up on this fine Thursday, friends? I’m sorry for unexpectedly going silent last week. I had an entire week of migraines that made looking at a screen or even getting out of bed impossible – I went almost a full week without even turning my computer on! Thankfully, they’ve completely disappeared this week and I was able to get back to life as normal, and even hit a few thrift stores, of course.
My Find:
Earlier this week, I shared a look at our current living room set up, including this mantel situation, featuring the beginnings of my new obelisk collection:
You see, you have to be careful when you’re thrifting… Once you have two of something, you might not realize it, but that’s the official start of a collection. From that point on, every time you find another, you’ll just have to bring it home and add it to the collection, or spend a great deal of time reasoning with yourself and talking yourself out of it.
The brass obelisk on the left is actually a find I’ve shared for a previous Thrift Score Thursday. A while ago, I saw this image by Eddie Ross and it’s stuck with me ever since – so when I spotted the green marble and brass obelisk on the right, there was no question: it had to come home!
Two down, just a half dozen or so more to go! 😉
The Thrift Score Thursday Features:
Now, let’s take some time to appreciate these fabulous finds, freshly picked from the #thriftscorethursday Instagram feed…
Pillows are some of my favorite things to thrift! I’ve brought home eight in the last two weeks – I just can’t resist when I find a great pillow cover (perhaps with a down insert) for a few dollars (or less). So I’m loving this eclectic mix of pillows Nina (@ourcozyhome) found!

Is there anything better than a sweet friend who thrifts on your behalf? A garage-sale-ing friend found this adorable petite carved wood and marble table for Colette (@restyleitwright) – lucky duck!

Not quite enough marble for you just yet? Feast your eyes on these spectacular marble lamps from Francine (@hotcoolvintage)! Would you believe, they were actually acquired at different times and in different parts of the country – Tuscon and New York City?! Incredible.

And speaking of New York City, that’s where Diane (@dianerath) was lucky enough to spot these fuschia velvet beauties in the trash. Say what?! Who could just discard these? Diane says they only needed a quick steam cleaning before being put right back to use!

Finally, let’s wrap with this gorgeous image from Eirene (@crazyoldeirene) that I haven’t been able to get out of my head ever since she posted it. Vintage quilt meets entryway wall and becomes the most awesome, graphic, large-scale piece of art ever! (And the fab light fixture is just the icing on the cake.)

Eddie Ross rocks and you do too, now I’m going to be eyeing obelisks (because I need something else to collect right?) I was so close to sharing some of these finds. That quilt on the wall looks like some kind of amazing wallpaper and those marble lamps… So good!
Thank you friend! Fingers crossed I stumbled across some more – I already went searching online and they are NOT very affordable to collect that way! I’ll have to trust my thrifting luck 🙂
i came so close the featuring those stools diana found, but i did feature that quilt- the hanging of it was perfect! love your new collection!
Thanks Cassie! Now that I’ve labeled it as a “collection”, I’m obsessed with finding more, haha! 😉
This week is quite lovely with all the finds. I totally want the lamps, blanket and stools.
Agreed! Those are all sooooo good!
