Thrift Score Thursday 109

April 27, 2016 by Brynne 6 Comments

Good morning and happy Thrift Score Thursday my friends! How are things going in your world? Any good recent thrifting scores?

My Find:

I’ve been simplifying things just a bit around here, as I’m trying to strip down my maximalist tendencies and stage the house for showings. Quite a few of the layers on our teak bar got packed away, but I just couldn’t quit two things – a brass animal figurine and my go-to stack of vintage books.

I found this 1960’s Hammond World Atlas at a Salvation Army a few months ago and thought it made such a great addition to two of my other favorite vintage books (also thrifted)!

Don’t even get me started about gold lettering… Why don’t we make books this pretty anymore?!

Consider this your friendly reminder to always take a quick peek in the book section for anything interesting!

The Features:

Earth Day was last Friday, so please let me just take a moment to give you all a huge round of applause…

Every find in the #thriftscorethursday feed has been given a second chance and I’m so proud of you guys for recognizing the potential in other’s castaways and helping give them new life and purpose! Just think of how many thousands of finds have been potentially saved from landfills (I’ll let you know: 9800 #thriftscorethursday rescues so far!) because YOU have the vision and the heart to appreciate them!

Seriously, to all my Thrift Score Thursday peeps: You rock! And thank you.

Here are this week’s features, hand-picked from the #thriftscorethursday feed on Instagram. You guys killed it, as always!

Jennifer (@jenc184) found this adorably whimsical hand-painted pair of Staffordshire-style kitties. I shared a similar pair I found last year, but I’m loving the blue pillow detail on these! So cute!

I love a good vintage seascape and I’m really crushing on the moody waves of this one @acquiredlovelies found for just $7 at Goodwill!

Check out this stunning RS Associates teak nightstand @mellabobella scored for just $10 on Kijiji and refinished herself! If that’s not awesome enough, the lamp was also a Kijiji find and the art (mmm, that blue frame!) came from a thrift store. I love it all!

Finally, here’s some perfect gathered style headed you way from Holly (@hollyyoung77). I spy too many treasures to count (hello, darling vintage camera collection!), but most of all I’m just totally obsessed with her shelf styling acumen. Take notes, friends! It’s the perfect eclectic mix.
