Hello my friends! How has your week been, thrifting and otherwise?
As I mentioned in Monday’s post, summer kicks off the season of Craigslisting for us over here, so our days this week have been full of finding and hauling – I’m looking forward to sharing more soon!
Last week was our inaugural edition of #dearTST, but this week we’re back to our normal features. We’d love to see, admire, and feature YOUR thrift finds…
Simply post a pic of any recent thrift find on Instagram or Twitter using #thriftscorethursday!
The Facts:
- You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
- Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
- Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of and I (plus a special weekly guest host!) will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
After taking the week off features last week, there were so many goodies waiting for me in the #thriftscorethursday feed that I couldn’t help but squeeze in a few more features today…
I love these adorable vintage chalkware owls shared by Kim from This Belle Rocks (Instagram: thisbellerocks). Something about their eyes just totally calls out to me!
The pattern mixing in this shot by Emily from The Anatomy of Design (Instagram: anatomyofdesign) is incredible. This is easily one of my favorite #thriftscorethursday shots!
Rachel (Instagram: at_home_in_maywood) has been sharing some incredible finds lately, but I think my favorite is this vintage type set drawer she’s repurposing to display gems and minerals! I love it!
Carol (Instagram: thespectaclednewt) definitely knows how to show off her finds – every last detail of this vignette is just perfection!
I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this clock makeover shared by Jodi (Instagram: twineandvines) – so vivacious, so fun!
Finally, I just have to shout out Shavonda’s find because she’s been looking so intently and patiently for it for so long… A gorgeous black Eames style lounge chair! (Blog: SG Style, Instagram: sgardnerstyle)
It’s always the best when you find that one “white whale” thrifting piece!
My Find:
I’ll make a little confession to you: I never go to garage sales. Bryan doesn’t enjoy vintage and thrift shopping with me (crazy, I know!) and I don’t like going alone, so that’s a whole branch of thrifting that I haven’t really explored.
I was lucky enough to spend a day visiting garage and estate sales with sweet friend from church the other day though, and had a blast! I didn’t find anything until the last sale we visited, but these adorable cat figurines immediately stole my heart…
I believe they are antique Staffordshire cats – I was so surprised to find a similar pair online dated to the 1880’s!
I am completely in love with their sweet little faces and gilded details! You might have spotted them on Instagram the other day, but I had fun giving them their own little #thriftscorethursday photo shoot yesterday.
How could I not love their little gold polka dots and crackled finish?
And as a confirmed crazy cat lady, finding a pair of the more rare Staffordshire cats rather than the traditional dogs was just absolutely perfect!

So excited to welcome Jess from Domicile 37 as our guest host this week!
This lovely lady has an incredible sense of design and shares wonderful decorating ideas on a budget – I know you’ll enjoy following her blog & Instagram!
Be sure to check out the finds and features from Cassie, Corinna & Trisha!
P.S. Are you a blogger who also love thrifty finds? We’d love to have you join us for a week of Thrift Score Thursday! If you’re interested, send me a message!
Shavonda really scored with that chair. Love it
Totally! I know she’s been looking for it for so long – so happy she finally found it!
oh my gosh those cats are SO you! love them! and i love yard sales…. break out of it, you can do it!
Thanks Cassie! Haha, I’ll try to start visiting some more!
I still can’t believe you don’t go to garage sales! When running (usually solo) errands on Saturday, its so hard not to make a screeching u-turn (illegal here) just to see what treasures await. Plus, I’ve found they’re even cheaper than the thrift stores! Looks like your sale browsing was a success though- those cats are quite adorable!
I just don’t enjoy going alone – I’ll definitely start rounding up some friends to go with me now though!
Love your kitties! I love garage sales, but….so early! Still, I need to get back out there.
Yes – I am not an early bird! Everything was pretty picked over by the time we made it by. So glad everyone skipped over my kitties!
I’m the same way, hate going g it alone and Hubby doesn’t want to go. It’s like stars aligned for you though! Amazing find with the kitties!
Wish we lived in the same area so we could go together! 🙂
Love those suitcases, and that clock is amazing! Your cats are pretty sweet, too–I’d say you had a very successful introduction to the world of yard sale-ing! My husband grew up going to yard sales, and he’s the one who got me into it. I’m like you–I feel kind of weird about it–whereas Justin walks up, loudly says good morning, and usually has made a new friend by the end of it. My normal tactic is to pretend to be invisible, but that usually just leaves me feeling awkward. I’ve discovered that it feels easier to say hello when I arrive and thank you when I leave. I have no idea why. In any case, I hope you’re able to get around to a few more yard sales soon! They are often feast or famine, but they’re pretty fun if you love the thrill of the hunt.
That sounds so much like me! Luckily my friend was the friendly, outgoing one, so I was taking notes for next time!
Thanks Brynne for hosting. I love how you find the most interesting things and make them cool. You collect so many little things, I would love to see you do a post of your little collection…I think it would be awesome, especially for those of us who collects things and have no way of displaying it (I can admit, I am one of those people).
I have stashes everywhere! I’m very messy, haha. I do love being able to swap out accessories – I also tell myself I’m stocking up for an Etsy shop one day… We’ll see if that ever happens! But really, I just have things tucked in drawers, closets, cabinets, everywhere 🙂
Love your cats! And the photo from Anatomy of Design is terrific! I’d frame that one and use it as art!
Ooh, what a great idea! She totally should – I love her feed and photography!
I didn’t know you were doing this party. I just subscribed, because I think I lost you somewhere along the way. Love your kitty-kats!
Hi Ellen – it’s so nice to reconnect with you! I’m sure you have some awesome things to share with the party! Welcome 🙂
oh i am crazy about those vintage type set drawers and those suitcases!!! i haven’t been to a thrift store in 2 months!! not fair! =) xo
I hope you get to visit a thrift store soon! I get cranky if I don’t get my “thrift fix” every so often. 😉
Those tea cups and sauces are just incredible!!
Seriously a work of art!
