Good morning friends! How’s life?
I’m dying to give you the deets on all sorts of house adventure updates… But in order for that to happen, there need to be updates… So I guess we’ll both have to keep patiently waiting!
My Find:
In honor of this week’s E is for Embroidery theme, I decided to snap a few pictures of this pretty little vintage needlepoint pillow I picked up a few months ago.
Our guest room has seen a few updates lately as I’ve stripped out some of the bolder details to neutralize it slightly for potential buyers… (And yes, this is “neutralized” in my world. What can I say? I’m a color lover!)
This pillow floated throughout the house for a while, but once I saw how perfectly it coordinated with the clay-colored accent wall in the guest room (Clark + Kensington Adobe Horizon), it helped inspire a calmer bedding situation in here. (See last year’s version of the guest room here.)
And a closeup so you can see the needlepoint detail… This is what patience looks like. I’ll never cease to marvel!
The Features:
Boy do I have some wonderful features for you today – picked from the #thriftscorethursday feed on Instagram!
This boot was not made for walking, but it is oh so fabulous! Jen (@greensprucedesigns) shared this brass boot she found for $6 at a thrift store and turned into a vase.
You guys, I just must be feeling springy! Another flower-filled find that caught my eye: this enormous and perfectly-patinaed head planted Kris (@drivenbydecor) scored.
I have to say, I haven’t been all about the Mid Century pottery lamps up to this point, but this stunning fat lava glazed pair from Rachel (@queen_patina) have completely opened my mind to their potential! These are just dreamy!
Perfect for embroidery week – Maria (@mariaski63) shared her eye-catching leopard pillow that would be just as comfortable at home over here in my house! I love the other textiles she photographed it with – such a good combo.
Oh cactus! It’s so popular right now, but really, I think it’s just getting some well-deserved attention. I’m utterly taken with this shiny ironwood cactus from Lindsey (@lindseymadsendesign)!
Finally, check out this beautiful space from Lidija (@lidijajerant), which just so happens to be sporting a little cactus accessory of its own. The real star of the show, however, is this horse painting she scored for $20. It’s so primal yet graceful – I’m obsessed!

i missed the horse painting- love it! we had some similar features this week! love your new pillow and HOUSE ADVENTURES!
I loved the cactus and I adore that pendant in the photo above the cactus
So much YUMMY good stuff! I LOVE your version of neutralized! I am a color lover too. No colors are excluded at my house, and somehow it all just blends harmoniously – we are equal opportunity, LOL!
I believe your cactus may be hand crafted ironwood made by the Seri Indians, who live in Northern Mexico in the state of Sonora.
Great finds. Love it! That leopard pillow is killer.
That horse painting is totally charming!
