Woohoo! It’s week 8 of #thriftscorethursday and I am so ready to see the lovely and awesome things you guys found!
I struck out at all three thrift stores I visited last week, so it’s up to you to give me the encouragement I need to head out treasure hunting again!
Simply snap a picture of any thrifty find or thrifted treasure and use #thriftscorethursday when you share on Twitter or Instagram!
The Facts:
– You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Megan from Rental Revival, and I will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
It was SO HARD to pick favorites this week. I seriously drooled over just about every find you guys posted! But in the spirit of not duplicating the entire #thriftscorethursday threads on Instagram and Twitter, I’ll force myself to choose…
Diana (Twitter: @DianaGalian) found this gorgeous midcentury chair on the side of the road. Let me repeat that for you: ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Are you as jealous as I am? She’s having it reupholstered in something fabulous – I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Read her blog post about finding the chair here.
I love this beautiful vignette Aislinn (Instagram: aislinncbyrne) thrifted for under six dollars! The soft blues are gorgeous, and I’m especially fond of the demure young woman in the artwork! Aislinn’s Instagram account is full of inspiration – you should definitely go follow her!
And finally, I just have to share the genius hashtag that die-hard thrifter Turena (Instagram: tsfinds) coined for all the fun things she spots at thrift stores but doesn’t end up bringing home – #catchandrelease. Brilliant, right? Personally, I would have had a hard time leaving these owl bookends behind (you guys know how I am with ceramic animals…), but it’s always good to know where you stand on that line between collecting and hoarding 😉 Plus, the next thrifter is in for an awesome find!
My Find:
So, didn’t I just mention that I have a thing for ceramic animals?
Yeah. Yeah, I do.
Guilty as charged.
I call this my Patronus (Harry Potter for the win!). I love the crackled, ethereal aqua and pink finish. He guards my antique, and – naturally – color-coded, books.
Well, now I want to hear from you! Did you thrift this week? What did you find?
You know how much I adore animal figurines too! Love your little deer!
Thanks Julia! Your new brass deer are the coolest though 😉
oh i have a thing for aqua and deer…. so yeah, i am in love!
You, Julia, and I should start a deer figure fan club 🙂 I have some catching up to do in the brass deer department though 😉
Ahhhh, your Patronus! She's beautiful. I shared that chair on Rental Revival, too 🙂
That chair is the coolest – you just can't be a roadside thrift score! Thanks Megan 🙂
Thanks for the shout out Brynne! I love your sweet Patronus deer and Aislinn's lovely vintage portrait. It's wonderful to see all these "pre-loved" treasures getting a new lease on life 🙂
You are so welcome Diana! Thrift score thursday is the most fun day of my week 🙂 I love seeing everyone's creative vision as well!
Awe Patronus is so dreamy! The light and airy color, I'm in love!
that retro chair awesome & love the hash tag so funny #catchandrelease
I know – I love it & I'm totally using it from now on! So clever!
I love your patronus. It is fantastic. Even more jealous of your beautiful copy of Little Women.
Also jealous of that chair! What a find!
Jenni
Thank you Jenni 🙂 I used to obsessively collect old copies of books when I was a teenager (you know, instead of the more traditional stuff like cosmetics) which is why I now have a huge collection of antique books and zero makeup game 😉
I love the owl bookends! So adorable!
I am obsessed with that painting. So gorgeous! And hooray for ceramic animal obsessions! 🙂
