It is week 5 of #thriftscorethursday and we’re still going strong! I just love seeing all of your awesome finds each week – it gives me a positive itch to run out to the thrift store and see if I have the same wonderful luck 😉
Each week, Megan from Rental Revival, Trisha from Black and White Obsession and I team up to bring you #thriftscorethursday – your one-stop hashtag-to-glory!
Simply snap a picture of any thrifty find or thrifted treasure and use #thriftscorethursday when you share on Twitter or Instagram!
The Facts:
– You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, we’ll pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
First up is this awesome mid century chair Ashley (ashley_biggerthanthethreeofus) found at Goodwill for $20 – I can only imagine how gorgeous it will be reupholstered! It reminds me of something the fabulous Emily Henderson would do in navy blue velvet!
And how adorable would that chair be (envision it with me in a dark velvet or linen) with these clover-leaf carved end tables Turena (tsfinds) found? She didn’t have a place for them and had to pass them by… I want to swoop in and hoard them 😉
Lastly, I just can’t not post this gorgeous midcentury hutch Corinna Ashley (formyloveof) scored for $50 on Craigslist. #scoreoftheyear right here!
My Finds:
So there was a huge trend of thrifted furniture for last week’s Thrift Score Thursday, which is awesome, but it also makes me want to run out and scavenge ALL THE FURNITURE from my local thrift stores, which is not so awesome because I do not have anywhere to put all these fabulous things. So my #thriftscorethursday finds are much smaller and more collectable this week.
Are you picking up on a pattern here? I have a huge thing for printed/etched glassware. Especially if there is gold involved. But really I am just a total sucker for any glassware with a pattern… I blame my grandma who has a complete and probably exhaustive collection of Tom & Jerry, Flintstones, Loony Toons, and Winnie the Pooh jelly-jars-repurposed-as-drinking-glasses that us grandkids could choose from. (Do you guys remember those? They were the best!)
Someone gave me a very fancy set of drinking glasses for my wedding. And someone (ahem, the boy behind the blog) managed to break every single one but one of them in just a few short years. I quickly realized that glassware can be an expensive habit to maintain when you have a husband who manages to drop one at a rate of one or two per week… I was on the brink of converting to red Solo cup usage until I found that I could pick up glasses for $1 each (or cheaper) at the thrift store. AND they could be ridiculously cute! And… GOLD!!!
So now I have a cabinet full of mismatched vintagey glassware and I get to sip my ice water/juice/ginger ale/whiskey with style. As a bonus, Bryan hasn’t dropped a single glass in our new house, so my recently thrifted glassware has been safe thus far!
Is there a certain little home good that you just can’t resist at the thrift store? Do you love glassware with gold accents as much as I do?
Looks like you and Megan both drooled over the patterned chair, while we both drooled over those end tables!
And for real, I thought I had my glass obsession under control until you showed off your vintage beauts!! My goodness I need to find me some of those map ones and of course get on adding some gold into my life. Great finds my dearie!
I guess that's why we're all friends – we all have similar taste!!! 🙂
Now I'm picturing some crazy trading spaces scenario where we each create something for the other's home…OMG, this could be the.next.big.thing. We totally need to do this!
OMGeeee Squeeeee <<—- I'm on board! 'nuf said!
oh wow! love those glasses and love that chair and those side tables and and and!!!
Such good stuff this week! It's so much fun browsing the hashtag on Instagram and seeing everyone's awesome scores!
Cool stuff again! That hutch is amazing
I know! I am soooo jealous of that hutch.
love the end table and the map glasses!!
That hutch is amazing!! Thanks for featuring my chair. It's funny how you said that you would do navy velvet. I ordered a loveseat from West Elm in navy velvet, so I can't do the chair in that….but I'm waiting to get the loveseat before I make any decisions.
Ahhh perfect! Whatever you do will be stunning, I'm sure! Love your style!
Gosh! I love every single item! Those etched glasses would look beautiful on my china cabinet 😉
Oh yes, they totally would! So are the glasses headed over there or is the china cabinet headed over here to hook up? 😉
Those glasses are gorgeous, and I am envious of that hutch.
Thank you Jessica! I know, her hutch is divine!
I love your glasses! You best knock on wood about him not dropping any of the new glasses! : ). I just dropped a coffee cup two days ago. The debris was not fun. My husband broke a plate the same week. There must be something in the water here.
I LOVE those tables! I would have bought them in a heartbeat but I would have had nowhere to put them.
The chair is so great! I like the original fabric, too.
And the hutch?! The price?! Wow!
Jenni
I know! Now that I've mentioned our recent fortune in not breaking glasses, we're sure to see some shards around here! 😛
love your glasses awesome finds so enjoying thrift score Thursday
