The Facts:

– You are welcome to share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, we’ll pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with the #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

The Features:

Turena shared this adorable green glass hippopotamus cookie jar on Facebook, and I am super jealous of her find! It’s the perfect amount of quirky and fun!

Stacey (staceynicolemcdonald) posted this etched brass vase that had me scrabbling at my computer screen trying to reach through and steal it from her 😉 Love it!

My Find:

I LOVE this pair of vintage canisters I found at Goodwill a few years back! I’ve never had the perfect place for them, but I just can’t resist the charm of their blocky lettering and the enormous orange ball knobs (a good 6” in diameter!)

They are stamped “Holiday Designs”, but it’s difficult to find any information on a name that generic via Google 😉 I did learn that there is supposed to be one more canister in the set – the baby bear canister – marked Tea. Here’s hoping I stumbled across that one some day at the thrift store!

I kind of feel like they may be the coolest thing I've ever thrifted… I finally just dug them out of the moving box, and I was excited about them all over again 🙂

Oh my goodness, Brynne! You have no idea, I've been on the hunt for the perfect 'canister' for my kitchen counter tops for ages. These would totally fit the bill You better watch your stuff girl, I may need to grow a pair of sticky fingers if/when I come visit. Ha!

Good luck on your quest to find the missing canister. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for you up here in the 'Nort.

P.S. you always impress me when you do your research on pieces.

I was luck enough to find the compet set of allfour canisters in perfect condition at the FleaMarkedt in New Orleans approximately 35 years ago. Mine have the Navy Blue top instead of Green and the Tops are Bright Red instead of Orange. Get many comments over the years about them. What would be your estimated value of complete set?

How awesome! What is the fourth canister – Coffee, sugar, tea & —–? I'd love to see pictures if you'd care to share! You can post them on twitter or instagram with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday! Honestly, I have no idea what the value of a complete set might be. They are very unique!
