I blinked and it’s April.
How did you guys enjoy this year’s April Fool’s prank? I figured you Thrift Score Thursday lovers in particular would get a kick out of it!
I wasn’t able to play along with the joke in real time this year – I took a road trip to Colorado with one of my sisters and we spent all day Saturday in a conference for Christian creatives with limited free time and cell phone reception – but I still had such a blast pulling it together!
And of course, I couldn’t travel out of state without doing at least a little bit of thrifting, so we managed to squeeze in a quick thrift stop on Sunday in between sight-seeing and mountain-admiring (note: it’s like mountain-climbing, but with less actual physical exertion and sweat and stuff).
Is that a thrift score I see over there?
I can’t wait to share what I picked up with you guys – nothing earth-shattering, but I’ll enjoy having my finds to remind me of such a fun little trip!

I just love the way @thebeauideal styled his mantel with so many fabulous pieces of art and vintage finds! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard wood paneling (especially knotty pine) put down, but just look how beautifully it sings with these decor choices!

I’m feeling so inspired by this shot from Beck (@thebohemianfleamarket). I adore the way other people can create such beautiful looks with a neutral color palette – because I just don’t have that restraint! I have endless admiration for an incredible, texture-filled, layered and monochromatic vignette like this… Believe me, I’m taking notes!
Audrey (@queen_of_plewtopia) rocks all 1,032 square feet of her home with her gorgeous, eclectic finds! I love the Mid Century Modern pieces mixed with the traditional table and metal cafe chairs – and her top-of-hutch styling and use of cobalt is so, so killer!
You just might not believe me when I tell you that Layne (@thejonesfix) thrifted this out-of-this-world dresser for $14… RIGHT?! I would sell a [not-totally-essential] internal organ for this baby!

You guys know I have a thing for gathered art! This gallery wall from Gretchen (@boxycolonial) gets me every time! The navy is such a brilliant compliment to the classic hues in these paintings and pieces of art. I have a closet full of thrifted art finds, just waiting for their moment… I’m thinking I need to slap up a navy wall and set them free!

And while we’re on the subject of thrifted art, I love this ensemble from @talesfromthebigtomato! (Also featuring an estate sale piano score!) Each piece is lovely on its own, but something special happens when they come together like this, don’t you agree?
One more vintage art treasure for you today – Kim (@kim_dti) snagged this amazing portrait with a 4-layered frame at an antique shop! I have such an obsession with old photographs. I always want to know who they depict, and what that person’s life story is…
I want to say this fellow had a secretly-fostered love of Tennyson and a not-so-secret affair with rye whiskey… and that the letters he wrote his beloved (her name was Maude, of course) were a thing of beauty. What do you think? 😉

I can’t get enough of this gorgeous shot from Andrea (@hunt.and.scavenge)! Her mother recently scored that stunning giant gilded mirror, shown here in her home. I love that they bond over treasure hunting and styling and they both clearly have impeccable taste!
This dining space from Erin (@sharinerin) features a West Elm chandelier she scored on Craigslist – retail is for the birds – and the rattan/bamboo head chairs were also Craigslist finds!
