Oh you guys! How has another week passed by so quickly already?!
My theory: black magic. Until I’m proven wrong, that’s what I’m going with to explain how I blinked and somehow another Thrift Score Thursday has rolled around!
The Features:
I’m going to dive right into the #thriftscorethursday features for this week and save my “thrifter’s remorse” find for the very end, for reasons that will soon become apparent…
Check out this amazing collection of Blue Willow china Julia (@thericharmedlife) scored for just $10 for 25 pieces! My thrift store has had two tiny saucers in this pattern for weeks and I’m always tempted, but never actually bring them home because I don’t really need them. An instant collection like this, though? All bets are off!
I have quite a weakness for vintage barware, especially print glass, like this incredible set shared by Sharon (@shashalaruequilts). I love the graphic woven design and the mod metal carrier!
This week was one of some pretty awesome coincidences. Okay, I’ll admit that I actually already knew that Meghan (mvalentinegifford) had the same vintage brass canopy bed as me, but I still had that spark of awe when I saw it pop up in the #thriftscorethursday feed! It’s a special day when you find your brass canopy bed soul-mate, you guys!
But the next coincidence was pretty crazy too…
May I present this amazing marble horse head @mariaski63 posted:
Followed by my “thrifter’s remorse” item, which I left behind at my local Goodwill just a few days ago:
And nope, they are NOT the same one, as I initially thought when I spotted her find in the feed (and subsequently hounded her to see if we happened to frequent the same Goodwill!)
But that’s too crazy, right?! Now if I only I had actually brought it home!
You see, I carried it around the store for thirty minutes before deciding it was an awfully heavy piece to pack up to move, so I placed it back on the shelf. Darn the pragmatism! A few days later, I repented of my self-control and stopped by Goodwill again, but alas, it was gone, and with it my opportunity to be marble-horse-head-twinkies with mariaski63 this week!
The Facts:
Learn from my example – always buy the marble horse head! And whatever other cool things you find at the thrift store that speak to you! And then share them with the #thriftscorethursday party to help fuel other thrifters’ collecting habits!
Simply post a picture of any recent thrifty find on Instagram using #thriftscorethursday!
- You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
- Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
- Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from A Designer At Home and I (plus a special weekly guest host!) will pick a few favorite thrift scores to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
- Please note that we can only see photos shared by public accounts, so if you have a private Instagram account and we haven’t been showering your finds with love, it’s simply because we aren’t able to see them.
Just a heads up, thrifters – my cohosts and I will be taking off next Thursday, 11/26, to spend Thanksgiving with our families! So that gives you a little extra time to share your fab finds AND enjoy the holiday! We’ll start our weekly party up again on December 3rd.

i REALLY want to be a brass bed triplet with you guys. can you find me a queen? oh how i love it. great features! sarah dorsey has one of those horses, too- she bought it at sweet clover! 🙂
That would be too fun! I’ll keep my eyes peeled 😉
And dang it! I missed out on being twins with Sarah too?! I’m such a Thrift Score Thursday failure!
LOVE that blue willow china! We have a set of Blue Willow china and use it as our everyday and have been looking to expand our collection (pretty sure I cry every time a piece of it breaks)… so you can imagine I’m pretty jealous!
Oh, I know that feeling! It’s the worst when a vintage collection piece breaks! But I love that you use it as your everyday china – wishing you luck in finding new pieces!
Why of why can’t I find a bed like that?
Aw, I really hope you do, Julia! We could all start a club! 😀
Aww thrifters remorse sucks! That horse head would’ve been a cool addition but you’re going to love an easier transition to your new home more.
Twinsies and triplets… its like our federal mirror coincidences as well!!
