Holla, you guys! Welcome to another Thrift Score Thursday and thanks so much for tagging along with us for 89 weeks so far! You make every week unbelievably awesome!
My Finds:
So I dropped the bomb on Monday that plans are in the works to get our house on the market and make a little move across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex sometime soon. And I just sent a pickup truck full of things off to the Salvation Army today in preparation for said adventure.
As you can imagine, I’m not bringing new loot home from the thrift store right now (I mean, unless it’s reeeeeaaaallllly amazing), but that hasn’t stopped me from some good old-fashioned window shopping. You know, when my truck pulls into the thrift store parking lot entirely of its own accord.
Which means… It’s time for another round of “Things I Didn’t Buy At The Thrift Store”!
I was absolutely tempted by this set of brass and metal fall leaves that was just $2.98. I tried to pretend I could justify the purchase for blog-related reasons but quite honestly, I don’t foresee too much fall decorating in my future this year.
Also in the metallic art department, these fun cattail pieces:
Aw, aren’t these two matching portraits cute? The frames were pretty great too with those soft aqua velvet mats!
You guys know my weakness for needlepoint pillows! This giraffe one was suuuuuuper cute and I 100% would have bought it if I had any place in mind to use it!
I thought this large ceramic horse was pretty neat. I definitely have a thing for animal figurines, perhaps thanks to my very first thrift score ever…
…But I just had to snap this photo of the base (I turn everything upside down at the thrift store due to force of habit checking for maker’s marks and such) because it totally make me smirk:

The Features:
But enough about me! Let’s talk about you guys and your awesome thrift scores!
First of all, let’s all unanimously admire the crap out of this incredible vintage birdseye maple (I adore birdseye maple!) bed Reeves (@theweathereddoor) found at an estate sale over the summer. Fan-freaking-tastic!
Robert (@a_midcentury_experience) shared this unique Mid-Century Erik Hoglund iron and glass chandelier found at Goodwill for five bucks! Do yourself a favor and Google it – I’m definitely adding one of his pieces to my thrifting wishlist!
Sarah-Marie (@sarahmarie.young) shared this vintage Plycraft “Scoop Chair” that’s one of my favorite chair designs ever. I’d love to own a pair one day!
Finally, @thriftedriches got a two-for-one deal with this insanely awesome brass-bound campaign-style chest. Someone added hairpin legs to it at some point, which doesn’t make a ton of sense, but hey – they can be saved for another future project! I can’t get enough of those brass details!

I’ll see if it’s still there next time I go! 😉
That bed is incredible
It’s amazing! I’m not even a traditional wood bed kind of person, but that one would totally convert me!
Those finds were so interesting but I’m sure it’s not fun to pack away more than necessary. I love your features this week. That chair could live happy in my house…
Having to sort through everything and seeing so many impulse thrift buys go BACK to the thrift store is really teaching me about not buying too much, haha!
Great finds all around! I have a horse similar to the one you did not buy. Love it!
Oh, fun! I really loved it – I have such a soft spot for horses!
I would have had a really hard time walking away from that horse, the black is quite stunning. Thifting for the next few weeks is going to be such a drag- I feel your pain though!!
Great finds! I would have definitely taken the ceramic horse for my dining room.
Thanks for having me as a guest poster this week 🙂
That scoop chair is ridiculous. I am loving it too much. Toooo much!!!
