How is it Thursday already? The days are just flying by! This week has been especially busy for us, but it has brought about some good things – the positive kind of busy is always nice!
My #thriftscorethursday find that I’m sharing with you today is this little clock made from a piece of burl wood. It appears to have been handmade. I love that someone looked at this chunk of wood and saw a clock face – because now, we can all see that it was always intended to be a clock, right? But I know it definitely took some vision to take an oddly shaped piece of wood and turn it into something so perfect. Three cheers for the unknown clock maker!
The inlaid dots keep the clock face simple, but still practical.
And the way the shape of the clock echoes the negative space formed by the edges of the honeycomb mirror tiles pleases me to a ridiculous degree. It’s the little things.
The Features:
I am so drawn to this (vintage, I assume) wool blanket Lisa (weekend_vintage) found. I spotted a similar one online that said it was from the 1940’s. I didn’t even realize it prior to this, but I think I totally have a thing for vintage hospital stuff!
When I spotted this painting shared by Dionne (theturquoiseiris), the first thing that popped into my head was that it struck me as a cross between Van Gogh’s sunflowers and Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”… Do you see it? I love the energy in this painting!
This metal + bead piece found by Anna (lecrafteur) is just the right amount of crazy. I’ve never seen anything like it, but I love it!
Whitney (carpendaughter) shared four thrifted-vessels-turned-planters and each one is so chic! It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I’ll always default to my first love, brass – top right or bottom left though, I can’t decide!
Now it’s YOUR turn to join the #thriftscorethursday fun!

We are so glad you're joining us CoCo! And yes – I think I need to get some succulents as well! And then go thrifting for interesting planters for them! What's one more trip to the thrift store? 😉
that clock is so cool! And I think you need to run with this vintage hospital stuff trend before it goes mainstream 😉
Right? So many possibilities! There was a space shared in Apartment Therapy where an old hospital had been converted to apartments, but it was sadly missing any "vintage hospital" touches… They needed a blanket like this one!
Love the geometric mirrors. I love co hosting. Thanks for having me the last couple of times. 😉
Thanks Nicole!
Totally digging your clock and the metal bead sculpture. So cool
Thanks Julia! Yes, I'm thinking to myself – now wouldn't that sculpture look so cool up on the mantel WITH the clock? It's a sickness! 🙂
That wooden clock goes so well with your mantle vignette! Especially digging the handmade quality!
Thanks Trisha! It totally makes me happy!
