Good morning and happy Thrift Score Thursday all!
I’ll be honest with you all – this past month has been less than perfect over here and I’ve been in kind of a sucky place inspiration and creativity and motivation-wise. But one thing that is always inspiring to me is poring over all your thrifty finds, so keep them coming! There’s nothing like the thrill of a perfect thrift score to help get you out of a slump!
And do you know who’s joining us today with oodles of enthusiasm and a thrift-score record awesome enough to beat any slump? None other than the adorable Cassie from Primitive & Proper!
This girl is the queen of decorating with vintage finds – check out her gorgeous dining room to see many of her treasures in action!
Is this your first time joining the #thriftscorethursday hashtag party?
Join the fun by sharing a picture of any recent thrifty find on Instagram or Twitter (or both!) using #thriftscorethursday!
The Facts:
– You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession and I will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
Sabrina from Retro Future Furniture (Instagram: futuristichuman) always has fantastic finds to share. This week alone, some Broyhill Brasilia, some gorgeous teak, some to-die-for kilim pillows, and this classy peacock chair and brass antelope… This girl has style!
Check out this awesome 1970’s dining set Nirma (Instagram: nirmi25) found on Craigslist. I’ve seen a chair or two in this style pop up, but I’d certainly love to one day get my hands on an entire set!
Finally, this gallery wall of thrifted and vintage treasures from Vanessa of Tried and True (Instagram: triedandtrueblog) is all sorts of incredible, isn’t it? I’m equal parts obsessed with all the fun art, that killer credenza, and the perfectly cracked leather on the lounger…
My Finds:
I’ve been doing some extensive living room rearranging over here.
That is to say, I rearranged all my super heavy furniture five or six times…
And then moved it all back to where it started.
But while furniture rearranging, I moved my little knickknacks from the tv credenza to the coffee table and loved them so much there that’s where they’ll be camping out for a little while.
Guess how many things in this photo were second-hand finds?
(A) capiz shell candleholders, (B) brass pheasant, (C) ceramic basket planter, (D) vintage books, (E) coffee table (of course), (F) credenza, (G) leopard rug… In fact, I think the only things not thrifted were the TV (although my husband did buy it second-hand from a friend) and the little fake grass plant from Ikea.
I love how serendipitous finds can come together in a fun vignette like this!
If I set out to put together a little vignette like this from retail sources, I’m not even sure I would land on something I like half as much, and I would surely have spent a great deal more – little accessories add up! Yet another reason that it pays to be a hoarder. (Feel free to tell your therapist I encouraged you. Blame it on me. Then send me the boxes when you purge your hoard.)
So what have you found recently? Are you in need of some thrifting therapy as well? Let’s go shopping!

Be sure to visit Trisha and Cassie and see their wonderful finds and features!

your vignette looks awesome! and i love that gallery wall and came THIS close to featuring those amazing chairs, too!
Thanks Cassie! 🙂
Love the finds and I'm such an idiot I didn't mention in my post that I found one of those chairs in small for dolls at the thrift store in Germany and brought it home for my daughter
Fun! I want to see! 🙂
Those candleholders are absolutely divine! That's it you're the thrifting queen. With only ONE thing in your lovely vignette not being thrifted (I totally count the tv as second hand), and being able to pull them together so elegantly- gosh.
P.S. your last paragraph couldn't be further from the truth. Best line ever: "(Feel free to tell your therapist I encouraged you. Blame it on me. Then send me the boxes when you purge your hoard.)"
Haha, that line is my favorite too 😉
Thanks love!
Dying over the Peacock chair. Fantastic find.

I just found one on the Dallas Craigslist, but of course they want an arm and a leg for it… It's so fancy!
Love your finds Brynne 🙂 xoxo
Thanks Kristin! <3
How did I not know about this cool party hashtag?!? Love, love, love this idea!!!!
Yay! Please join us – the more the merrier!!!
Hats off to you Brynne. You are the crowned queen of thrift. I just posted my recent free finds in twitter.
I love your finds, Eve!
Love the vignette! And great picks this week 🙂
Thanks Gretchen!
Another brass bird. I'm not worthy Brynne. You are the master thrifter!
Put a brass bird on it!
What great finds. That chair is just so awesome.
I have a feeling everything but the tv is thrifted? Love all the brassy awesomeness that is going on in your living room Brynne.
I hope you feel better soon. Sending some good September vibes your way.
Even the tv was secondhand! It's actually that little bit of fake grass, courtesy of Ikea 🙂
Good vibes are always much appreciated!
Wow really? Well I was not exaggerating when I called you a thrifting queen. You definitely have that skill down!! 🙂
You are so good at thrifting Brynne! You have an eye that is for sure. I've been thrifting for the first time in like a year in anticipation of my post coming up. I found something decent but I'm still on the look out!
Woohoo! I can't wait to see it!
I seriously wish I had your luck and eye when it comes to thrifting! Maybe I just need to go more often 😉
It's an addiction… If I wait too long in between thrift-store trips, I definitely go through withdrawal!
Those capiz shell candleholders are gorg! Love it all.
Thanks Gwen!
This is one of my favorite Thrift Score Thursday posts. I'll take everything! (Especially the coffee table vignette!)
Oh, thank you Gina! 🙂
