Good morning and a happy Thursday to you! It hardly even feels like a Thursday, thanks to our Monday holiday. I hope my U.S. readers had a lovely Fourth – did you manage to work any thrift shopping into your long weekend?
My Finds:
My coffee table styling got a little re-mix thanks to a few fun finds I picked up recently. I found the two panther figures and the marble Chinese checkers board for $1.99 each at two different Goodwill stores on the same day! The colors were perfect for the more neutral pull I’ve felt recently.
The panthers are stamped “Marco Giner” underneath, and some glue remnants underneath and Internet searching revealed they probably stood on lucite pedestals at one time. (Sob! If only!). They felt very Kelly Wearstler to me, and I play “WWKWD?” at thrift stores on the regular, so the answer was definitely “yes” when I considered whether or not I should bring them home!
I just adore the colors in the marble/soap stone (?) Chinese checkers board. It makes a great base for a favorite candle!
Thrift Score Thursday Features:
Favorites from the #thriftscorethursday feed on Instagram, as always lovingly picked by yours truly!
First off is this adorable little puppy planter Jewel (@cactushound) found while dropping donations off at a local thrift store. I mean, that’s just good karma, right?!

@vintageparlororiginals shared this throne-like iron chair with the cutest Bohemian fringe-y upholstery job. I’d adopt this piece any day!
Such a pretty shop from Ariel (@pmqfortwo) of her 8-piece Wedgewood “Countryside” score! They’re definitely perfect pieces for setting a gathered table!

Of course, I loved hearing that this adorable vintage croquet set was handed down to Ashley (@vintagerefined) from her grandparents!

Finally, in light of my recent post all about how to decorate with gathered furniture, I absolutely had to share this incredible sideboard makeover from Kristine (@thepaintedhive). You HAVE to see the “before” on her blog, scored for just $5. She did all sorts of repairs, created new doors, and gave it this gorgeous stenciled treatment! And the best part is, it’s all for a good cause… Wow!

those panthers are so awesome!!! and i have a marble chinese checkers like that. i got it from a museum shop i think when i was with my dad. 🙂 i also featured that amazing boho chair and kristine’s gorgeous $5 sideboard makeover! stunning.
Thanks Cassie! I’m having way too much fun with new thrift stores at my disposal now – there are actually about twice as many in a 10-mile radius as there were in our old area… Dangerous!
And that sideboard makeover just might go down as one of my favorite furniture transformations ever!
Love those panthers, looks like you have a nice lucite base for them even though they lost their own. Awesome find!
Haha, I hadn’t thought of it that way – so true! Thanks Maggie!
I don’t know how to play croquet but I would learn if that set landed in my life. It’s got such a cool vintage vibe.
And those Panthers are so you!
I’d forgotten all about the game Chinese checkers. I’ll have to pick one up sometime soon!
My family had a croquet set growing up, but I’m not sure we kids ever really played correctly! I just always wanted to be Alice in Wonderland and use flamingos and hedgehogs! 😀
OMGosh! This weeks gathered goods are so….GOOD! You might remember that I have a HUGE ‘thing’ for marble, from my own marble pieces you featured several weeks back! and I just LOVE your marble treasures. Those panthers are ama-ing, but that Chinese checkerboard is fantastic! and the croquet set is fabulous, my friend has one that is very similar to that! and that metal chair is awesome, but that sideboard refinish is amazing! I love the stenciled doors! and lastly, my friend with the awesome croquet set, who also helps me with my marble addiction, found me new marble treasure to share……
I love it, Julie! Can’t wait to see your new marble treasure! I think marble might be the new brass to me… I’m finding myself pulling out less of my brass animal pieces to decorate with here in the new place!
