The Denton square is such a charming place, and I had a wonderful time this week combing through some of the antique mini-malls there. Here are a few fun things I found and photographed (but did not purchase):
I thought this life-sized amber-glass head was awesome – look at that cute sculpted 1920’s bob hairstyle! $30.
This brass lamp was huge – at least two and a half feet tall and had a really lovely hammered finish. $22.
Maybe I have weird taste in art, but I thought this very large ink drawing/painting was really awesome – $50. What do you think?
Now this, I know is awesome – old typography or printer’s sideboard or flat document file? Definitely the [second] coolest thing I saw all day. $1600. So worth it!
This antique store was in the most fabulous old building! I adore those shelves going up to the amazing tin-tiled ceiling, and the robin’s egg blue library ladder on the track! Even better, there was an amazing old wall of hardware bins in the back, but it was impossible to get a good picture of them. This store as a whole was definitely the coolest place I saw all day – I totally want to move in and live there!
So, if you find yourself in Denton, definitely check out the cute shops on the square!
