We may have overpurchased liquor for the cocktail party we hosted this past weekend… Apparently I was preparing for a herd of alcoholic zombies. They didn’t show up.
But, as a result of our marvelous foresight and hosting skills, we now have all the ingredients necessary to try out new and delicious cocktails.
Like the “Sparkling Ginger Margarita” – a carbonated ginger and lime margarita that is oh so very refreshing and tasty!
For each serving you will need:
1 1/2 oz. tequlia
1/2 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup – you can use less if you prefer a less sweet cocktail
Small slice of ginger root
Ginger beer to taste – we love Reed’s Extra Ginger
Add everything except the ginger beer to a cocktail shaker. Mash the ginger root with a fork or spoon to release the juices. Shake well with ice. Strain into a glass and top off with your chosen amount of ginger beer – we added roughly the same amount of ginger beer as the other ingredients. If you’re feeling fancy, garnish with a lime slice!
Mmmmm! So good!
Do you have a current favorite cocktail? Or suggestions for what we should mix up next?
Yummy, sounds like my kinda party! LOL Looks so yummy.
