Hey! I’ve been seeing a lot of monthly roundups from other bloggers (for like, years now…), so I decided to be [fashionably] late to the party and recap The Gathered Home’s September.
In the unduly and ungodly hot month of September…
I Painted:

I Made:
I Found:

I was in an article in the LA Times – Twitter IPO Hurdle!!!!! (Nope, not excited at all…)
Lifestyle blogger photo: “Ooh, I’m so calm and collected and famous and totally not holding my phone with awkward-looking-bony-fingers at all”:
Real life photo, which I’m pretty sure is just too embarrassing to post, but I will anyways because I am honest like that:

Yep, definitely too embarrassing…
Go read the article to find out why I’m not a super huge fan of Twitter. (I tweeted about it, ironically.) Also follow me on Twitter: @thegatheredhome.
Also, one million thanks to the sweet author who put me at ease during the phone interview (I have a near-phobia of speaking on the phone) and left out any mention of my strong Texas accent that ONLY manifests itself when I’m nervous – I call it “obnoxious hick”, if you need a mental image. I’m also eternally thankful that she didn’t directly quote me on either “smack dab in the middle of” or when I used a strange-old-man-voice to say: I feel like an old fogey. Like, ‘What is all this new social media crap?’ (Stay classy, Brynne.)
It was fun. And it was like skittles. (Everyone says “like crack” but I personally don’t have any experience with whether crack is like having your name in print in the LA Times or not, so I’ve substituted something else that I do have experience with, and that experience is that I can’t eat just one or even ten or twenty skittles… It’s the whole darn bag. Every time. What I’m getting at with this is that I want to eat some skittles now. And that seeing my name in print was delightful.)
So that was my September. Good Lord, it was busy. Crazy, but fun. Exhausting, but rewarding. I’m ready for some crisp fall weather, shiny new projects, the chance to wear boots and a sweater, and my first pumpkin-spiced-something of the season… Onward, October!
Aww love your selfies! Not embarrassing at all. I took one a while back and my mom forbid me to ever post it. LOL it was insane. You had a busy month and your light fixtures totally rule.
Haha, too funny about the selfie! I think I've proven on this blog that none are too embarrassing to post, lol 🙂
Thanks Julia!
Well someone has been a busy bee! The craftiest thing I did last month was go shopping at Target haha
Oh, I've done some shopping at Target this month! It totally counts 🙂
I MUST know where you got the glass in your Mango Whiskey Smash picture. I love it! I have been looking for glasses just like that!
Hi Mandy! Those glasses were from the Neiman Marcus for Target collection last winter (the designer was Altuzarra). (But I got them at the end of the season clearance for 75% off, because I can never bring myself to pay retail!) They're no longer available, but maybe you can find some secondhand on eBay? Good luck!
