Today I want to share a little detail with you. Sometimes it’s the little details that make you the happiest. This one was so simple and so long ago (see if you can spot it in our first apartment), but still makes me smile, so I thought you might draw some inspiration from it.
You may have spotted this little lamp in my post on my current living room setup. At the moment, it’s sharing the vintage typewriter cart with a sweet little clearance candle from Target:
The lamp base was a Goodwill find for $7, and I fell in love with its emerald green feather pattern and gold details. I ended up taking it apart and rewiring it (my first electrical experience, but not my last).
Around the same time I purchased the lamp, I found an incredible peacock necklace at Forever 21 and bought it on impulse, because I kind of have used to have a “thing” for peacocks…
Only, the pendant on this necklace was HUGE. Like rapper-bling huge. Or Olympic medal huge. I either needed some gold fillings and street cred pronto or some extreme athletic skills to pull it off. I have neither.
But I did have a lamp with a pull chain.
My lamp now sports some serious swag. I love it!
You’re next! What quick and easy little details around your house just make you grin? New kitchen towels? A little vignette? A particular hand soap scent? Furthermore, do you also have a lamp in need of a sassy little update? Do share!
Oooh how cool. Really! You know what this reminds me of? My little Hungarian porcelain rhino that I wanted so badly and didn't get at the auction. Love the lamp. Who's the manufacturer?
Oh my goodness – I can see that now that you mention it! I checked the lamp for a manufacturer, but it doesn't have a label of any kind.
