Imagine my excitement to find this tag inside the frame, with the original inspection date of August 30th, 1921! The metal tag on the front says “Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation”, so I had a little government lesson in researching exactly what that is – the Bureau of Reclamation is apparently concerned with water resource management. I think it’s such a cool name.
I’m currently using this piece as a coffee table in my living room, and if I were to keep it, I would either add casters on the bottom, or set it on a short metal frame to raise it up a little bit. I’m also picturing replacing the plywood top with a piece of glass, and placing a map in the first drawer so you could see it through the top! Wouldn’t that be sweet?
Love it Brynne! You have such a great eye!
