The story goes like this: the man and his wife from whom I bought these card catalogs and the flat file work for the government with airplanes (I can’t remember exactly how they explained it) and got a huge lot of old card catalogs, flat files and barrister bookcases from said government job.
After using some of the pieces in their own home, they listed the card catalogs on Craigslist as “Hardware Bins”, because somewhere along the way someone put mdf boards in the bottom of each drawer and used the drawers to hold assorted industrial parts and oddments.
[Ed. note: oddments such as “x-ray powders” and, my personal favorite which is picture below and I know stands for “assorted”, but I find hilarious all the same.]

The last time I had three of these, they sold within twelve hours of posting them, so I’m asking a little more this time and keeping my fingers crossed 🙂
I have three just like these! How much did they sell for if I may ask?
Hi Magen, I prefer to keep money talk off my blog since I am far from a professional appraiser and sale prices will vary depending on location and the current market. My best advice is to research on sites like eBay and Etsy to see what similar items are going for currently!
I cant believe you sold these! Next time you get some, seriously LET ME KNOW. =)
I know, right? We were apartment dwellers at the time & it didn't really cross my mind to keep them!
