It’s so funny how my finds seem to come in cycles – all dining sets one week, all desks another. This time the theme is apparently, “Chinese Chippendale”. Last time, it was a metal Chinese Chippendale dining set. This time, it’s a set of gorgeous vintage wicker Chinese Chippendale chairs, hand-crafted in Massa, Italy by the “Casa del Vimine”.
The multi-generational family-owned company has been in business since 1963, per their Facebook page and some helpful Google translate. I LOVE being able to find out the history of a piece/pieces!
However, I have the previous owners to thank for the super awesome pink ikat seat cushions – I couldn’t have picked more perfect fabric myself! I just want you to appreciate how honest I am being here: because, I really want to claim that upholstering the cushions in that gorgeous fab ikat was my idea… but I’m not. 😉
Photographing these chairs in our newly painted office… Now that was my idea:
Check out the seat cushion fabric:

Yummy! Hot pink, orange, dark brown/charcoal, lemon yellow – everything that is good and beautiful!
Good stuff, right? I think these are so cute! I’m completely ignoring the fact that I always see a swastika out of the corner of my eye in the pattern on the chair backs… let’s pretend that isn’t there, okay?
I'm ready to cry, LOL! Where the heck do you live that CL people sell this stuff? The fabric is amazing and like I said before I have been looking for chairs like this foreverrrr. You are so keeping them, right?
Julia, the Dallas Craigslist is insane! So much "old stuff" that people can't wait to get rid of so they can get "new stuff". I have resigned myself to selling these – I know that next week or month I'll be equally in love with something else. I'm so fickle! But I love just being able to acquire and photograph cool things and then sell them – so I don't turn into a crazy cat-lady furniture hoarder :).
