Last spring, I fell in love with malachite. Facebook friends (this is back before I started this blog!) might remember this DIY malachite faux painting project:
While my geologist father informed me that real malachite is less swirly than my version, I was still pretty darn proud of my work. Loved that campaign chest! Thankfully, I was able to find a good home for it when we needed to downsize drastically last fall.
Now, our new house means that I can once more pursue my love of malachite accessories, specifically my long-desired malachite curtains.
I was thrilled when Jenny from Little Green Notebook blogged about some malachite sheets (sadly, no longer available) from HSN! (Her post also has lots of other great malachite inspiration).
See that emerald green right there? That’s exactly color I was looking for! (Although the jade (seafoam) option is stunning as well).
They arrived yesterday and I absolutely LOVE the fabric!
But wait – sheets? I thought you wanted curtains, Brynne. It would appear that you have your household linens confused.
Nuh-uh! The flat sheet was approximately 90” wide by 105” long – plenty of fabric to cut down the middle and create two curtain panels!
Leaving me with about the same amount of fabric in the fitted sheet (already have plans for that!), and two generously sized pillowcases (which, who knows, might even end up being used as actual pillow cases. I know, I live life on the edge!)
Since the sheet set I used is no longer available, I’ve sourced two other malachite fabric options for you so you can get the look.
