I have at least 50 things in each room from Ikea, I also had billy book cases in my flat, but they have since been given away to my hubbies nephew – for not being expensive they really do last and last. Our new place has oddly shaped recesses so we have had to opt for custom built ins (not yet installed) the rubbish weather has confounded our carpenter, as the paint and filler has not set in the very damp UK winter.

Now for the health and safety bit…did you anchor those suckers to the wall? If not, you must…a wonky floor board when stepped on might make them tip, and the carpet spiky thing that goes against the wall often means the edge of a room is not square and can tilt them slightly forwards.

Thank you Julia! My secret was to put all the "ugly" books on the bottom shelves so you notice all the pretty ones at eye level 😉 Did you see the photo YHL shared on Instagram about fiddle leaf figs at Home Depot? Someone in the comments mentioned being able to order one online & have it delivered to their house! Genius!
