But I am glad I read this post and as someone who is also trying to furnish a house on the cheap I have (shamefully) forgotten about my local thrift stores. I think I had this idea in my head of my new house being filled with “new” things. But just because they are not factory new doesn’t mean they can’t be new to me.

This little hoax of yours also made me want to pay more attention to my food waste. My mother would kill me for half the things she sees me throw out (*insert embarrassed emoji here) but I would like to be more conscious of this, and am going to make a pledge right here and now to cut down on my food waste and take a trip to a local thrift store this weekend! Love your blog!
